of suicide and the ramifications
for suicide prevention
-Questions to ask in a comprehensive
suicide assessment
-Sources of information for suicide risk
-What steps should be taken if a client
presents with suicidality

This course contains materials that can
decrease liability risks for mental health
clinicians in handling suicidal clients.

This beginning level course is primarily
designed for clinicians early in their career,
or for clinicians reviewing basic concepts in this area.

This course was written by Charles D. Safford, LCSW,

and from NASW GA. Mr. Safford has over 40 years
of post-master’s experience as a clinician,
and has over 25 years of experience as a training
