    Six core hours

    Presenting a one-day, six hour training to bring the 21st Century clinician up to date on current research related to advances in our understanding of emotional and cognitive development and implications for our work in providing education and treatment to children and their families. This course will provide practical tools and approaches to transfer the key knowledge base for parenting to clients in a readily applicable way and to address motivational complexities and resistances to change.

    - Learn the emerging knowledge about the complex development of the neurological systems for healthy emotional functioning based upon current research by the leading voices in affective neuroscience
    - Comprehend the temperamental and other inborn differences between individual children and how these differences interact with functional and dysfunctional modes of parenting
    - Understand the motivational elements that lead to resistance from parents in the application of more effective parenting techniques 
    - Apply some practical and powerful interactive approaches to invite parents to adopt more effective parenting approaches
    - Comprehend how parenting styles and approaches intersect with cultural differences and learn to how to integrate more effective parenting approaches within different cultural frameworks
