Title: Assessment for Suicidality: A Primer for Mental Health Clinicians
Description: This course is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to assessing for suicide risk.
Objectives:
Upon completing this course, the trainee will understand the following:
-Why and when people are likely to commit suicide -The factors that increase the risk of suicide and the ramifications for suicide prevention -Questions to ask in a comprehensive suicide assessment -Sources of information for suicide risk -What steps should be taken if a client presents with suicidality
This course contains materials that can decrease liability risks for mental health clinicians in handling suicidal clients.
This beginning level course is primarily designed for clinicians early in their career, or for clinicians reviewing basic concepts in this area.
